In web design I basically do this: 1. Conceptualize the design in my head. 2. Write the CSS (and basic HTML with DIVs) for it by hand in Notepad, etc. 3. Create any graphics in GIMP 4. Build the PHP parts (in this website, it was a Joomla! backend, but in most cases I just write some basic PHP stuff) I'm not a very good or efficient web designer, so you probably don't really want to copy my workflow. :-) Oh, I see that you were talking about web design, not blogging.
