I just renewed Carbonite Online Backup which I have been very happy with. It only costs $72 for a two year subscription, $3 per month (if you use the coupon code RETAILMENOTCJA1). It is an incredibly easy to use backup service that backs up an unlimited amount of data online. (Of course, you need a broadband internet connection if you’re going to back up all your data.) It intelligently backs up the smallest documents first, then the pictures, then the videos so that it always has the max amount of your creative energy backed up at once. It also runs when your net connection is idle, so unless you have other computers using your net connection, it won’t slow it down. I do have other people using the same net connection, so I have it scheduled to run between 1 am and 6 am. The horrible thing about backups is that you have to remember to do it and it doesn’t get done often enough. This does it automatically, taking away the most irritating part about backups. I definitely recommend it. If you want to download a free trial, click here. (If you have any questions, feel free to ask.)

I’ve never had any irritations, but I’ve not given it intensive testing and I’ve never had to restore anything.
I do know that Mozy has been a pain to work with (as in not working at all) on one of our GRT computers. However, I think that might be because it’s not compatible with Win2K.

Carbonite is certainly well worth the investment. I have been very pleased with how it handles backups. I also scheduled it to run from 1:00AM to 6:00AM in the morning.
