My portfolio dipped into the red for the first time since I started investing in mutual funds several years ago. Around its peak, it had been up about 40%. Now the fact that it’s only slightly in the red is only due to the fact of strong performers like Latin America (still up 70%, down from a peak of 140%) and energy service (still up 40%, down from a peak of 100%).
The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
Update: As I’m sure you’ve heard, the stock market surged back. Friday in my portfolio India, Capital Appreciation, Dividend Growth, and China were all up around 5%. Latin America was up 12%, Eastern Europe was up 16%, and energy and energy service were up 9%. I’m just a tad in the black now. Still discouraging.
