Wow! This guy took two pictures per day (from opposite angles) of himself for 17 years. He had his head at an angle consistent with the orbit of the earth around the sun. (If he would be the sun, the left picture has his right ear pointed at the earth and the right picture has his left ear pointed at the earth.)
A peaceful scene from Garmisch, Germany, home of the 1936 Winter Olympics, 1978 and 2011 Alpine World Ski Championships; they are also going to put in a bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics
I’m thinking this is near Innsbruck, Austria (oh for a GPS enabled, geo-tagging camera
Benji has an amazing picture that I would love to post here, but I shall refrain… He gave me permission:
Someone taking a picture of our Amish buddies with the night watchman (you really need to click on this image and appreciate it full size for all the amazing details)
This is a post that will be largely without comment because while I enjoy flowers very much and certainly enjoy photographing them, I do not know their names. Most of these were taken with my 60 mm macros, but some of them may have been taken at 200 mm with my Sigma 18-200. Preliminaries aside, I present to you some of the flowers of Rothenberg.
Mvsei Vaticani, the Musuem of the Vatican, including the Sistine Chapel (where photography is forbidden, but widely engaged in, but this little Mennonite boy didn’t feel comfy taking any pics)
Some of the beautiful modern architecture of the Vatican Museum that contrasts so nicely will all of the old
More of the same, including the top of the famous staircase
I took a picture similar to this, but Benji’s was a trillion times better, so I put his up. Speaking of which, now that I have my grimy little hands on all his best Europe pictures, if he doesn’t start posting them soon, I will! His blog is hosted on my server so all I have to do is hop into MySQL, add myself an administrator account in WordPress, and go to town. The problem is, he would probably like that because I would be doing a lot of the work for him. Maybe I should post his pictures on my blog. And take credit for them! Yeah, that’s a threat that’ll scare him! Start posting, brother boy!
Oh, yeah… the picture… that’s Heidi getting herself caricatured with the whole family standing around watching.
One of the many obelisks brought from Egypt to Rome by the emperors
Can you imagine what it was like to have been photographing a wedding in Sichuan, China when 7.9 earthquake hit and shakes for three minutes with the entire church crashing down?
